Hello December! You arrived earlier than anticipated, and I'm totally not ready for the world to end yet. How about you guys? It's going to be weird if I only have 19 days left to live. I better make the best of them!
These were the products I reached for the most in the month of November 2012.
My "monthly favorites," if you will. Last month's included a lot of LUSH and this month did too - in fact, two products made it to the Monthly Favorites for the second month in a row!
My other monthly favorites posts can be found HERE.
If you checked out my monthly favorites from October, you may notice that LUSH Ocean Salt and LUSH Dream Cream have made it back into the monthly favorites! Ocean Salt is an awesome face and body scrub, and it keeps my skin clear and smooth. Dream Cream and its wonderful oat milk infusion is really soothing for the skin. I found that it's taken care of the keratosis issues I had on my arms - the bumps are smoother, and there are WAY fewer of them. I'm buying a full-size jar of this one post haste!
Then we have my miracle facial cleanser - LUSH Aqua Marina. This is a wonderfully gentle cleanser made with calamine powder and lots of different kinds of seaweed to soothe irritated, sensitive skin. I found that this cleared up my skin right away and KEPT it clear - it was UNREAL! Herbalism was great but I found that after awhile I noticed it was beginning to break me out along my jawline. Aqua Marina cleared that right up without overdrying my skin. This product has been a GODSEND and I will forever sing its praises.
fresh Brown Sugar is one of my favorite fragrances. It's got a wonderful citrusy freshness undercut with the warm sweetness of brown sugar. It's a comforting yet energizing fragrance and I really love it. Jonny bought this for me over a year ago and I've been using it quite often. I've made quite a dent in the bottle which is uncharacteristic of me because I don't ever commit to products (heck, going through my past monthly favorites posts will show you that)! But this is a gorgeous scent, and I always have it on lately.
Sadly limited edition, this MAC Care Blends Essential Oils in Sweet Orange + Lavender is something I always reach for in the colder months. It's a wonderfully balancing blend of essential oils that I massage into my facial skin before wearing foundation or even all alone. It balances out my oil and dry spots, making my makeup last longer, not to mention it makes my skin look wonderfully glowy! I will miss this product when it's gone, as MAC haven't put out any more Care Blends in a REALLY long time.
Finally, there's Secret Outlast deodorant. I mean, deodorant - is that a beauty product or not? I say yes. Since I have two jobs, I often leave the house early in the morning, do lots of work, and come home 16 to 20 hours later. This stuff has been awesome at lasting a really long time without failing or fading. Doesn't dry out my armpits, which is actually quite a problem for me, especially in the colder months. Great stuff, and I got it pretty cheap!
These are my favorites for November 2012!
What products did you reach for the most in the month of November?
So question about aqua marina, is this like herbalism and dark angels that you would use after washing your face? Or is it more like a replacement for fresh farmacy bar soap? Just curious, because I've always been interested in trying it but I don't need another exfoliating product. Right now, I'm struggling to use up the dermalogica and dark angels that I already have.
ReplyDeleteHey Becca! Aqua Marina is an actual facial cleanser - I wash my face WITH it! I simply wet my face, make a little paste with the Aqua Marina and some water, and smooth that all over. Then I just rinse it off! It's not exfoliating at all, it doesn't have any scrubby bits in it. It's very, very gentle and good for skin. I think you should give it a shot, maybe buy like a $5 chunk or something, because it's totally different than any other cleanser LUSH has and it's changed my skin for the better!
DeleteThanks! I picked some up today to try it out. I've been using the Fresh Farmacy, but it's so drying in the winter. I liked that the Aqua Marina didn't seem to suck all the moisture out of my face. Lol. Or at least, I had to use less moisturizer afterward. Hopefully, it works for me. I do really like the seaweed face mask, so I'm hoping it has a similar effect :D
ReplyDeleteOh I'm glad you picked some up! It's got the soothing calamine of Fresh Farmacy, but it's SO much more moisturizing, especially in these dry winter months. It changed my life. I hope it changes yours too!
